Privacy Policy

How Basecrawl handles the information needed to operate a dependable crawling platform, communicate with you, and keep your workspace secure.

Effective July 9, 2026

Scope of this policy

This policy explains how Basecrawl, Inc. collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, dashboard, APIs, documentation, or support channels. It applies to account holders, trial users, and visitors to our marketing site.

When a customer uses Basecrawl to process a public web page, the customer remains responsible for having an appropriate basis to collect and use that source material. This policy covers the information we process about our own users and service, not the privacy practices of websites reached through a customer crawl.

Information we collect

We collect account details such as your name, work email, authentication and billing contact information, workspace settings, and communications you send to us. If you contact support, we keep the information needed to understand and resolve your request.

We also receive technical and usage information, including API request metadata, selected crawl options, error logs, browser type, IP-derived region, and events that help us protect the service. We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and ask you not to include it in support messages or crawl configuration.

How we use information

We use information to provide and improve Basecrawl, authenticate users, process API requests, calculate usage, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, and send essential service notices. We may use aggregated, de-identified usage patterns to understand reliability and prioritize product improvements.

We do not sell personal information or use customer-provided crawl inputs and outputs to train a public model. We only access customer workspace information when necessary to operate the service, investigate an incident, respond to a support request, or comply with law.

Sharing and service providers

We share limited information with providers that help us run Basecrawl, such as hosting, payment processing, observability, and customer support services. These providers may process information only under instructions that are consistent with this policy and our contractual safeguards.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect the security of Basecrawl or its users, or in connection with a corporate transaction such as a financing, acquisition, or asset sale. If ownership changes, the successor will be required to honor this policy or provide notice of material changes.

Retention and security

We retain account and workspace information while your account is active and for a limited period afterward when needed for legitimate business, legal, billing, or security purposes. API logs and crawl-related operational records are retained according to the limits of your plan or our documented operational schedules.

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including access controls, encryption in transit, monitoring, and least-privilege practices. No system is completely secure, so please use strong credentials and promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Your choices and rights

You can review or update account information from your workspace, unsubscribe from non-essential product communications, or request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information where applicable. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Questions about this policy or privacy requests can be sent to [email protected]. We may update this policy as our service evolves, and will post the revised version here with a new effective date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
